Friends is an American sitcom that follows the life of six young adults. The series leads us through their professional and personal lives. The struggles they faced in their relationships. And most importantly how the friends should stand shoulder to shoulder in all troubles.
The show portrays Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Chandler Bing, Joey Tribbiani, Pheobe Buffay, and Rachel Green. They meet at different phases of life. Chandler and Ross were college roommates. Later Chandler moved to live across the hall from Monica who is Ross's sister and Joey joined them as Chandler's roommate. Pheobe was Monica's earlier roommate. While the five were hanging out together in a coffee house, they came across Rachel Green who was Monica's high school best friend.
We can see the six friends spending time together at Central Perk, a coffee house, and the girls' and guys' apartments. The six came from six different backgrounds. Yet they fit together like the pieces of a Jigsaw. That's how friends should be.
Ross is a paleontologist and has a Ph.D. He loves to be addressed as Dr. Ross Geller. And don't argue with him on dinosaurs, he can go on and on. Also he got divorced thrice in the series. He can be goofy, grammar nazi, dinosaur lover, but above all he would do anything for his friends.
Monica is characterized by her obsessive cleanliness. She is bossy and competitive but she is kind, caring and lovely. She can be called as the mother of the gang. She is a good chef and always host the thanksgiving dinner. Oh the thanksgiving episodes are the best.
Chandler is most known for his sense if humour and sarcasm. He is the king of sarcasm. He was very scared of committment at the beginning. But his heart is poor and he will makes you fall for him. Chandler Bing is everything you could ask for.
Joey is the best. He may be dumb, dim-witted or whatever but he is loyal, caring and never let anyone demean his friends. And Joey loves food, woman also. " How you Doin". If Monica is the mom, Joey is the child of the team.
Pheobe and her Smelly Cat is a unique thing. She is kind natured and snart. Even Pheobe's twin is nowhere similar to her. Sometimes Pheobe is like the male version of Joey. She is a an animal lover too.
Rachel is portrayed as a spoiled girl. She is a beautiful young lady who has always stayed in her comfort zone till she decided to run away from her wedding. She is a fashion enthusiast and a shopaholic. She can self-centered at times, but she is lovely.
These friends together showed us how life can be to us and how we have to fight all the problems and move on. Friends are everything we need to survive a terrible life and what we need to enjoy our happiness.
