Most people misinterpret dove and pigeons. Doves are small whereas, pigeons have larger dimensions. Evidently, mass of dove is slighter than pigeons. Dove tails are pointed, contrast with pigeon's rounded tails. Both varieties belong to Columbidae species. Their names emanated from contrasting languages and origins. They generally intake fruits and seeds. Both are gentle and domesticated easily.
Rose crowned fruit dove
This native Australian variety is recognized by pink patches along forehead. Nearly 500 varieties originated from Southeast Asia and Oceania. Both female and male varieties have characteristic pink hues. But male species with bright combinations of orange, pink and yellow beneath their grey chests are admired by many.
Pink necked green pigeon
People usually envision this pigeon's color fake. But, typically its real with male pigeon characterized with bright colors like other pigeon species. Female pigeons have drab greener appearance.
Fantail
This fancy species features nearly 30 to 40 feather unlike other pigeons with 12 to 14 feathers. This attractive species origins along Pakistan, Spain and India. Usually, domesticated for fancy release during weddings. When excellent training is subjected, this variety returns after dismiss.
African Green Pigeon
Adult species have excellent maroon patches near wing's top surface. These fast flying species have attractive yellow thighs with either grey-green or yellow-green upper part and bright red feet.

Jacobin and Archangel Pigeon
Jacobin pigeons have smaller dimension species is characterized by its fancy feathery head. Unlike Jacobin pigeons, Archangel pigeons are fancy breed with unique feathers and unusual appearance. Their smaller wings have black, white and blue shades which makes it attractive.
