Sweet Dessert Shira Delicious Dish Recipe

 

Shira is a delicious dessert melt in the mouth sweet made with Rava or suji (semolina). Shira is a Maharashtrian sweet dish made up of ghee, Rava, sugar, milk, and dry fruits(optional). So let's see the sweet dessert recipe for Shira.

  • 3 tbsp of ghee
  • 1 cup of Rava(suji)
  • 1.5 cups of boiled Milk
  • 1 cup of Sugar
  • 0.5 cups of water
  • Dryfruits(as per you want to add)
  • cardamom powder/ Elaichi powder

How to make -

1. In a pan, add 3 tbsps of ghee and add 1 cup of Rava (semolina). Keep stirring constantly so that the Rava doesn't burn. Cook till the color of Rava changes slightly to light brown. 

credit:party image reference2. Add a handful of raisins. Keep stirring. Add 1.5 cups of boiled milk and fold well. Once the milk is completely soaked, add 0.5 cups of water and fold. Check one grain of Rava by pressing it. If it doesn't appear white, then it is cooked well. 

credit:party image reference3. Add 1 cup of sugar and a pinch of Elaichi powder (cardamom powder). Cut and fold the sugar into the Rava. Continue stirring till the sugar melt. Turn off the heat and keep the vessel away from the burner.
