Usually Apple keeps the launch event in the month of September but this year they did it early and launched their iPhone 12 lineups along with a mini speaker during the event on October 13 at 10:30 pm IST.
There are total four iPhones launched in which iPhone 12 and 12 Mini are considered in one lineup and another consists of pro lineup namely iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. The basic differences that exists between these variants is related to camera and sizes of the phones. It is interesting to know that iPhone 12 Mini will be even smaller in comparison with iPhone SE but the display size will be larger which is of 5.4 inches. Consumers who love compact devices will definitely go for the Mini variant.
The performance of all the devices are more or less going to be the same since they are embedded with Apple's A14 bionic chip which is extremely powerful than any processor on a smartphone and astonishingly provides improved performance from their previous generation A13 bionic chipset. There is 5G connectivity support in all of the iPhones which makes these devices future ready. The display size of iPhone 12 is 6.1 inch and the mini variant has a display size of 5.4 inch. This time Apple took one step forward and upgraded the display panel towards OLED screens for all of the variants which is a great and a common requirement in today's tech world. Yet the consumers will be missing a higher refresh rate screen which has also became a common piece of tech provided in almost all of the flagship devices. The iPhone 12 and mini variant packs dual rear cameras one being wide angle (f/1.6) and another being ultra wide angle (f/2.4) sensors. On the other hand iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max variant features triple rear camera setup of wide (f/1.6), ultra wide (f/2.4) and a telephoto lens (f/2.0 in pro and f/2.2 on Pro Max). Surprisingly the iPhones will be packed in a more small and compact boxes because there will be no charger and earphones for the buyers from this series. It sounds extremely strange but the ideology to reduce the carbon emissions is the primary aim of the brand. Coming to the pricing part, in India the iPhone 12 Mini (64GB) starts from Rs. 69,900 and goes upto Rs. 84,900 (256GB), iPhone 12 (64GB) starts from Rs. 79,900 and goes upto Rs. 94,900 (256GB), iPhone 12 Pro (128GB) starts from Rs. 1,19,900 and goes upto Rs. 1,49,900 (512GB) and iPhone 12 Pro Max (128GB) starts from Rs. 1,29,900 and goes upto Rs. 1,59,900 (512GB). Definitely the phones are slightly priced higher for the Indian consumers since the duties and taxes have been increased by the government though the price is still at a higher side if the charger and earphone are excluded.
