Low pressure area moving away from Indian coast

The low pressure area over the Arabian Sea became stronger on Saturday, but it is moving away from the Indian coast and no adverse weather is expected on the west coast. Meteorological Department's Cyclone Warning Division (CWD) gave this information. The CWD said that yesterday's low air pressure over east central Arabian Sea near North Maharashtra coast has moved towards west-northwest and has turned into avadab. It is expected to increase further towards the west during the next 48 hours and then progressively weaken.

Heavy rains in many parts of Hyderabad

Earlier this week, heavy rains in several parts of the city led to heavy rains in many areas of the metropolis again on Saturday and traffic was disrupted due to water logging. According to official figures, from 8.30 am to 10 pm on Saturday, Singapore township of Medchal Malkajgiri district received 157.3 mm of rain and 153 mm in Bandalaguda near Uppal in the city. Many other areas of the city also received heavy rainfall.
