Gradually the new features are coming to WhatsApp, the messaging service owned by Facebook Inc. Previously seen in some beta versions of the app, from now on it is official to mute group chats, and even individual chats, forever.

This has let the messaging platform itself know through a tweet posted hours ago. Until now, WhatsApp offered the ability to mute chat conversations for a day, for a week, or a year at most.

But if users are in very active groups, with a high level of participation, and at any time of the day, even in the early morning, they find themselves in need of having to silence them again after the year.

What WhatsApp has done has been simply to delete the one-year option by the Always option, which will allow users to have individual groups and chats muted indefinitely, being in their hands to receive notifications of those conversations again at any time.

Until now, the other alternative was to suppress notifications from the entire application, a drastic solution that affects all conversations, and not just those you want to mute for whatever reason.

This possibility is reaching both the mobile application of the platform and its web version. In either case, users must go to the chat they want to mute, tap on the group or contact name, and choose the Always option in the Mute settings.

With this procedure performed in as many conversations as you wish, you can now rest easy and avoid the enormous inconvenience of receiving notifications of certain conversations.

All that remains is that the other functions that have been seen in the beta versions are officially coming, which will surely change all the dynamics in the use of this messaging application.
