Kajal Aggarwal (born 19 June 1985, Mumbai Maharashtra India) is an Indian movie actress and model. She worked in the Telugu, Tamil, and Bollywood films and has been nominated for four Filmfare Awards South.
Kajal made her acting debut with the 2004 Hindi movie Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... and had her 1st Telugu movie release in 2007, Lakshmi Kalyanam. In the same year, she starred in the box office hit movie Chandamama, which earned her recognition and appreciation. The 2009 historical fiction Telugu movie Magadheera marked a turning point in her career, earning her critical acclaim. It ranks among the highest-grossing Telugu movies of all time and fetched her Best Actress nominations at many other award ceremonies including Filmfare.
In 2020, a wax figure of Aggarwal was put on display at Madame Tussauds Singapore, making it the 1st of an actress from South Indian cinema industry. She made her Tamil movie debut with Pazhani in 2008.
Aggarwal was born in a Punjabi family settled in Mumbai Maharashtra. Kajal Aggarwal father Vinay Aggarwal, is an textile business person and her mother Suman Aggarwal is a confectioner, and also Kajal Aggarwal business manager. Kajal has a small sister Nisha Aggarwal, an actress in Tollywood, Tamil and Malayalam movies, who is now married to Karan Valecha.
She completed her studies at Saint Anne's High School, fort and completed her pre-university education at Jai Hind College. Kajal completed her graduation in mass media, with specialization in marketing and advertising, from Kishinchand Chellaram College. Having harboured MBA dreams all through her growing years, Kajal intends to achieve a post-graduation degree very soon.
She also sung the song "Yenaithu" from Kannada movie Chakravyuha in 2016.
On 6th October 2020, Kajal announced her upcoming marriage with entrepreneur businessman Gautam Kitchlu. On 30th October 2020, the couple got married in a small, private ceremony in her hometown of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, with some of the couple's immediate families in attendance.
