8. The Taking of Deborah Logan: Of the found footage genre this movie revolves around an old woman who's battling the Alzheimer's disease. But things are not that simple because the lady is possessed by the spirit of a boogieman.

6. [REC]: A Spanish movie that features the story of a television show host whose late night documentary turns an unforgettable nightmare. A found footage genre thriller filled with spontaneity and some solid acting.

4. The Orphanage : In its imdb review I read it that it scares in all languages. This Spanish cinema has a strange captivity of its own. You'll feel a fresh atmosphere of the movie. It revolves around a mother who needs to rescue her son who's trapped in another realm.
3. The Ring: A cursed cassette murders the ones who hear it in seven days. The protagonist must find a way to put an end to it. Different and intriguing. You're going to love it.
2. The Conjuring: Some people call it overrated. Yes it is, because instead of just focusing on ghouls, it focuses on story telling, character development and tension building. It has many jumpscares but you are going to feel them only when you are fully into the movie. With minimal use of cgi this movie delivers the chills just by the brilliant performance of the cast.
- The Conjuring 2 : Yeah, I know many disagree. But I find it the best in every way. A successful sequel to The Conjuring this movie chronicles the infamous Enfield haunting. Brimming with powerful performances by the cast, it is one of the most wonderful horror movies ever made. Watch it for brilliant film making and acting.
