Spotify launched its Apple Watch app in 2018. And while you've received updates, users still need to be connected to the iPhone to listen to their favourite songs and podcasts.
This dynamic is now changing, as Spotify adds streaming support to its Apple Watch app without having to rely on mobile.

A practical dynamic that gives users the freedom to listen to Spotify content on their headphones by simply sending it from their Apple Watch. An ideal dynamic for exercise or running, regardless of whether you forget your mobile at home.
Let's remember that Pandora added the standalone stream to its Apple Watch app earlier this year. So it gives users the ability to control their experience with Pandora content from Apple Watch, leaving their mobile aside. Search for content, play them and even download songs to listen offline.
