Kanchipuram silk sarees are very special and most important in a South Indian wedding. The design and colour combinations will vary on every year. The sarees for muhurtham was yellow colour and the border was either maroon or green was the religious custom in Tamil Nadu. The white or half white with any colour border were mostly used as muhurtham saree in Karnataka and in Andra Pradesh. The draping styles were changing according to fashion and trend.
Style 1: Madisar
Madisar is the style of saree draping of brahmin ladies. For the muhurtham, they wear the 9 yards saree in madisar style. In medical also there are different styles.

Style 2: Normal saree style
The standard style to wear saree is an Indian saree draping style that is Bangalore style. That is common and the bride's mother and co- girls will follow this style.

Style 3: Maharani style
To the reception, the maharani style saree draping became a fashion. This style gives rich look like a queen.

Now the trend for the reception was lehenga style. The saree was draped over a lehenga. It looks like a contemporary, fusion of north India and south India costume.
