Mobile number portability will not be able from November 4 to 10, Know why?

The process of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) will now be completed in 2 working days instead of 7 working days. Telecom Regulatory of India (TRAI) has said that due to new rules coming into force from November 11, mobile subscribers will not be able to apply for Mobile Number Portability (MNP) between November 4 and 10. Explain that with the help of MNP, customers can switch to another network without changing their mobile number.

Under the new revised rules, the individual porting request will be completed in 2 working days. A TRAI official said that under the new system, if a person requests to change a mobile company into a service area, the process will be completed in two working days. At the same time, the request for 'number portability' from one circle to another will be fulfilled in five days.

Actually, the objective of MNP rules is to reduce the time taken by 7 days by making the current process faster and simpler. TRAI has issued a statement saying that MNP applications will not be accepted for 6 days from 6 pm to 10 pm on November 4. After this, the new rules will come into force from midnight on 11 November.
TRAI has also said that at present, mobile subscribers can generate Unique Porting Code (UPC) to change the network by 6 pm on November 4. Explain that right now the process of number port is completed in 7 working days.
