410 Hindu refugees stranded in Pakistan got approval to extend special visa period: home ministry

The Union Home Ministry has agreed to extend the visa period for 410 Hindu refugees stranded in Pakistan due to the expiry of special visas. The Ministry of Home Affairs gave its consent during the hearing of the matter before the Jodhpur bench of Rajasthan High Court.
This decision has brought great relief to the Hindu citizens of Pakistan who are on long-term visas in India. These refugees visited Pakistan on special visa NORI (no obligation to return to India) for a brief period prior to lockdown due to the coronavirus. The NORI visa allows non-Indian long-term visa holders to visit Pakistan and return within 60 days.
His visa expired when 60 passed due to the lockdown. In the previous hearing, the bench sought answers from the Center on the condition of NORI visa holders in Pakistan and helping them return to India.
