According to the Good Returns website, today gold prices fell from Rs 54,110 to Rs 50,678 per 10 grams, while silver rose from Rs 67,266 per kg to Rs 67,600 per kg.
The prices of gold jewelery vary in India due to excise duty, state taxes and levies.
In New Delhi, the price of 22 carat gold remained at Rs 49,600 per 10 grams, and in Chennai it jumped to Rs 48,860. According to the Good Returns website, the rate in Mumbai was Rs 49,540. The price of 24 carat gold was Rs 53,290 per 10 grams in Chennai and Rs 54,110 in Delhi.
October futures on MCX fell 0.10 per cent to Rs 50,690 per 10 grams, while silver September futures marginally rose to Rs 67,481 per kg.
According to HDFC Securities, gold prices fell by Rs 56 to Rs 51,770 per 10 grams in the national capital on Friday.
In previous trade, gold had closed at Rs 51,826 per 10 grams. Silver also fell by Rs 738 to Rs 68,371 per kg from Rs 69,109 per kg in previous trade.
HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (commodities) Tapan Patel said, 24 carat gold prices in New Delhi declined marginally by Rs 56.
