Street Style Tasty and Delicious Gol Gappe Homemade Recipe

 

This popular street food doesn’t need any introduction! Potato, onion, black chickpeas, yellow peas, coriander chutney stuffed crispy puri drenched in sour and spicy tamarind flavored water easily fills one’s mouth and takes taste buds on a journey of heaven and it is no wonder that it’s a popular street snack along the length and breadth of India and known as Gupchup, Gol Gappa, Puchka, Pani Puri, etc. Preparing panipuri at home is not only a healthier way of enjoying it but also allows you to customize it the way you like it. It is very simple to assemble and one can easily find puffed puri at any Indian grocery store or prepare at home with this recipe.

  • flour/maida
  • semolina
  • water
  • coriander leaves
  • mint leaves
  • small ginger
  • green chilies
  • tamarind pieces
  • chat masala
  • salt (as per your taste)
  • 3-4 boiled and mashed potatotes
  • red chili powder
  • cumin powder
  • asafoetida
  • 1 chopped onion

Instructions:

Step 1: In a bowl, take 2 cups maida with 1/2 cup semolina, 4 spoons oil and make a smooth dough with water. Put aside for 15-30 minutes. Later Make puris with a rolling pin and deep fry them.

credit:party image referenceStep 2: In a blender, take some handful of coriander/ cilantro leaves, Pudina/ mint leaves, small ginger, and some chilies with small tamarind pieces, and blend them with water. Add chat masala, salt, asafoetida 1 spoon each, and make Pani.

Step 3: In boiled and mashed potatoes, add coriander powder, chili powder, chaat masala, jeera powder all 1 spoon each, and mix it thoroughly by adding some coriander leaves.
