Crispy Moong Dal Fritters Delicious Snack Recipe

 

Moong dal pakoras are fritters made with skinned green gram, which is soaked for an hour in hot water, coarsely ground with dry red chilies and then finely chopped onions, a coarse paste of garlic-ginger-curry leaves are added and seasoned with black salt, turmeric powder, asafetida, and little bit dry mango powder. Deep-fried until it’s crispy. It is served with a sprinkling of chaat masala.

  • moong dal
  • chopped onions
  • green chilies
  • ginger-garlic paste
  • fresh coriander
  • salt
  • coriander seeds
  • fennel seeds
  • chili powder
  • cumin powder

Recipe:

1. Soak yellow split lentils for 4/5 hrs or overnight. Wash it thoroughly and then grind it to a nice paste(not too runny). To grind add very little water. Take it out in an open dish(bowl) and whisk it nicely to make it a little fluffy. 

credit:party image reference2. Then add finely chopped onions, green chilies, grated ginger garlic paste, chopped fresh coriander, salt, crushed coriander seeds, fennel seeds(optional), chili powder, cumin powder, any other spices of your wish and then give it a good mix.

3. Heat oil and then lower the heat and then on medium heat start dropping the small balls of the ready mixture with your hands or with a spoon as you prefer and fry them till golden brown.
