Volleyball is one type of game that is quite popular in Indonesia and has its own fans, you may even be one of them. To do this sport, you need to master 4 basic techniques that are not too difficult for beginners to learn.
Volleyball sports a very flexible game because it can be played in various locations, from asphalt, grass, and sand on the beach. You can also do this with one other friend, or invite the whole family to get involved in this competitive activity.
Volleyball and its basic techniques
In Indonesia, fans of volleyball have been spoiled by live broadcasts of professional volleyball club competitions throughout Indonesia, namely Proliga. There, the athletes demonstrated various advanced techniques that made the game even more interesting to follow.
For beginners, those advanced techniques may be too difficult to perform. However, you can still learn basic technique volleyball sport and practice it when playing with friends.
1. Servicing
Servis is the initial capital in building attacks on opponents. Good service can mess with your opponent's defenses and make it difficult for them to attack you.
In practice, there are 2 types of service known in volleyball, namely the lower serve and the upper serve.
- Down service
In this service, the player hits the ball with one hand below or parallel to the waist so that the ball bounces over the net. The bottom serve is often used by novice players and female players, because it is considered the easiest way of serving.
- Top service
This service is done by bouncing the ball over the player's head before being hit over the net. This technique aims to make the ball dive sharply into the opponent's playing field. This technique requires a higher skill than the lower serve.
2. Passing
Passing in volleyball can mean passing or passing the ball to one's partner. Passing also consists of 2 types, namely under passing and overpassing.
- Passing down
This technique is performed when the ball that comes in front or side of the body, belly level down.
- Passing over
This is a technique of passing the ball using the tips of your fingers when the ball comes at the shoulder level or more. The goal is to build attacks so that teammates can spike or smash.
3. Spike (smash)
This is the most challenging part of the basic technique of volleyball, as you have to maximize your hand strength to make a hard shot. Spike or smash is used to generate points by dropping the ball with a sharp and nosedive blow.
4. Blocking
Apart from attacking, you also have to be good at defending through block techniques at the net. Blocking is done by raising the arms as high as possible above the net, in order to prevent the ball being hit by the enemy while carrying out an attack in front of the net.
This basic technique in volleyball may have to be practiced over and over until you become good at it. But don't give up, because this sport is good for physical and mental health.
