Parineeti Chopra Biography

Parineeti Chopra (born 22nd October 1988, Ambala, Haryana, India) is an Indian movie actress and Indian singer who appears in Bollywood films. Chopra is a recipient of many accolades, including a Filmfare and National Film Award. Parineeti initially aspired to pursue a career in investment banking, but after obtaining a 03 honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School she returned to India during the two thousand nine economic recession and joined Yash Raj Films production as a public relations consultant. She has been appearing in Forbes India's Celebrity hundred list since 2013.


Parineeti made her acting debut with the company's 2011 romance comedy Ranvir Singh movie Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Parineeti followed it by gaining praise for her starring roles in the box office hits— Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Hasee Toh Phasee (2014). The 1st of these won her the National Film Award – Special Mention while the first 2 of these earned her 2 nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. After a 3 years hiatus from full-time acting work, she starred in the comedy movie Golmaal Again (2017) and the war drama Akshay Kumar movie Kesari (2019). During this period, she also starred in 03 unsuccessful movies including Namaste England (2018).


In addition to her acting career, Parineeti is a humanitarian and is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products. She has sung 3 of her songs in movies, including Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahin, which garnered her praise.


Parineeti Chopra was born on 22nd October 1988 in Ambala, Haryana into a Punjabi Hindu family. Her father, Pawan Chopra, is a businessman and supplier to the Indian Army at Ambala Cantonment and her mother is Reena Chopra. She has two brothers: Shivang and Sahaj; actresses Priyanka Chopra, Meera Chopra and Mannara Chopra are her cousins. Chopra studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Ambala. In an interview published in The Hindu, she revealed that she was a very good student and had always wanted to become an investment banker.
