Bhumi Pednekar (born on 18 July 1989 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) is an Indian actress who mainly worked in Hindi films. After working as an assistant casting director in Bollywood at Yash Raj Films for 06 years, she begins her movie debut as an overweight bride romantic comedy Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) with Ayushmann Khurana, by which she won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She is of Marathi language and Haryanvi descent; Bhumi father, Satish, was a former home and labour minister of Maharashtra, India. Her mother name is Sumitra. She completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir in Juhu, India. At the age of fifteen, her parents taken a study loan for her to study acting at Whistling Woods International, but she was expelled due to poor attendance. Within one year and a half, she joined Yash Raj Films as an assistant film director, and paid off the loan. She went on to work with the company for 06 years under Shanoo Sharma. She is active in Bollywood from 2015 to present. She has height approximately 5'4 feet and weight approximately 65 kg. Her eyes has brown colour and black colour hairs. She completed bachelor in commerce. She has one twin sister Samiksha. She was born in Hindu family.
