Carmen began her career as a model in the late 1940s, posing for popular men's magazines like Playboy and Esquire. She also worked as a burlesque dancer and became known for her fiery red hair and curvaceous figure.
In the 1950s, Carmen made her way to Hollywood, where she began appearing in films and TV shows. She appeared in several B-movies and starred in the 1955 Western "The Devil's Hand." She also had small roles in high-profile films like "Some Like It Hot" (1959) and "The Manchurian Candidate" (1962).
Carmen was also an accomplished golfer, and she played on the women's professional golf tour in the 1950s and 1960s. She was known for her unique approach to the game, often wearing revealing outfits and using unconventional techniques on the course.
Later in life, Carmen became known for her claims that she had a romantic relationship with Elvis Presley. She also wrote a book, "My Wild Ride: The Untamed Life of a Girl from the Dust Bowl," which detailed her colorful life and career.
